28 May 2018 the delegation of the Customs staff’s training and retraining Institute, Bureau of Customs and tariff of Japanese Ministry of Finance visited Russian Customs Academy.
  
Japanese delegation was represented by:
  • Masaki Okamoto, Senior Director of the Department on Training and Research;
  • Tohru Tanaka, Trainer
  • Denis Petropavlovskiy, the chief expert of Russian FCS Representation in Japan.
  
Russian Customs Academy was represented by:
  • Vladimir Mantusov, Head of Russian Customs Academy,
  • Elena Lobas, the First Vice-Rector (for Education),
  • Oleg Karpovich, Vice-Rector (for Science), Acting Vice-Rector (for General Affairs and International Relations)
  • Anna Yakunina, the specialist of educational-methodical work I category of the International Cooperation Department
  • Dmitry Pirogov, the 4th -year student of Faculty of Customs.

Opening the meeting the Head of Academy Vladimir Mantusov noted, that under the agreement of the Ministers of Culture Of Russia and Japan V. R. Medinsky and H. Matsuno, 2018 year was declared the year of Japan in Russia for the exchange of cultural heritage between the countries. The decision on this issue was made in December last year during the visit of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to Japan. In the land of the rising sun, festivals of Russian culture are held every year. Festivals allow the Japanese to get better acquainted with the culture of Russia and strengthen cooperation in the political, scientific, educational, economic and cultural spheres.
 
Japanese colleagues were shown a presentation about the main activities of the Russian Customs Academy, organization of retraining and qualification improvement for Customs authorities, scientific and international activities.
 
During the meeting Japanese party proposed to carry out bilateral cooperation in the following areas:
  • work to promote the Customs Glossary used by the World Customs Organization in Russian, Japanese and English languages;
  • exchange of information on the material and technical support of the educational process;
  • joint projects on Customs training and retraining.
 
At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged gifts.

Tour of the Academy was held for foreign delegates, during which the guests visited: 3 halls of museum, reading rooms of the Library and Information Center, Faculty of Customs, TV-Studio, Training Situational and Analytical Center.

Moreover, there were two working meeting with the Head of the Training Department Elena Chernyavskaya and the Director of the E-Learning, Retraining and Qualification Improvement Institute Olga Saenko. Training programs, issues of training and retraining of personnel for Customs services of foreign States were discussed during the meetings.
