The delegation of the Russian Customs Academy took part in the IT Conference and Exhibition in Lima (the Republic of Peru)




During the period from 6 to 8 June 2018 the delegation of the Russian Customs Academy including V.B. Mantusov, Head of the Russian Customs Academy, Doctor of Economics, Professor and P.N. Bashli, Vice-Rector, Director of Russian Customs Academy Branch in Rostov, Doctor of Technology, Associate Professor, took part in the WCO IT Conference, which was held in Lima (the Republic of Peru). N.N. Rykunov, Representative of Federal Customs Service in Argentina and E.V. Golubev, the 3rd secretary of Russian Embassy in the Republic of Peru, also took part in the event.




The theme of the Conference is “Building a reliable digital landscape to boost cross-border trade”.
The event was organized by Peru Customs and Korea Customs Service. 
The Conference was attend by Customs authorities, representatives from border regulatory agencies, the IT sector, the broader business community, governmental and trade organizations, development partners, academia and others involved in the international trade arena.
Moderator of the Conference were:
  • Mr. Victor Shiguiyama Kobashigawa, SUNAT, Peru;
  • Dr. Kunio Mikuriya, Secretary General, World Customs Organization;
  • Taeil Kang, General Director of Informatics and International Affairs Bureau Korea Customs Service.




During a three day Conference there were 6 Seminars and 4 TechTalks. 


Issues, related to exploring the ways that modern information and communications technology can lead to exciting possibilities for a whole-of-government approach at the border, were discussed.




At the same time with the Conference, there was the Exhibition, which presented the latest solutions in the field of information technology for use by Customs Services and international trade networks.




During the trip, the participants of the Conference and the international exhibition got acquainted with the advanced developments of the WCO member countries in the field of information Customs technologies, foreign experience in the field of training and qualification improvement of scientific and pedagogical staff, Customs officials in order to improve the educational process at the Academy and Branches in the transition to E-Customs.




The materials obtained during the Conference will be used by the Russian Customs Academy and its Branches in educational and scientific activities, in training and qualification improvement of Customs officials, in the creation of a textbook on Customs information technologies, the publication of which is planned at the Academy, as well as during the international Customs forum, which is traditionally held in October in Moscow.
