The development of customs administrations performance measurement mechanism in the WCO countries will help to solve the strategic tasks of the customs authorities’ development at the national level as well as to ensure the revenue mobilization and safe movement of goods and vehicles.

The Working Group on Performance Measurement is developing a performance measurement mechanism for WCO member countries, including criteria and performance indicators, assessment methods and tools using a scientifically based methodological approach to customs administrations’ management.

The Working Group on Performance Measurement contributes to the development of the WCO member countries’ customs administration systems, carries out analytical activities, ensures long-term sustainable cooperation between customs administrations as well as the modernization of customs administration system.

Therefore the main agenda of the upcoming meeting of the Working Group on Performance Measurement will be a comprehensive consideration of the following issues:

• WCO member countries’ performance measurement experience

• Modern approaches to performance measurement in organizations: the concept of a comprehensive assessment, a balanced scorecard, an indicative approach.
